The much-scrutinized AM LAW 100 list was released this morning and, while many assume that this list remains stagnant with only minor changes, this year FOUR firms catapulted into the top-100 list. Barnes & Thornburg, with their aggressive growth and other top firms including Wilson Elser find themselves on the coveted list this year (Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, fresh off their recent merger and Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith round out the newcomers list). These firms are dynamic firms that are focusing on strategic growth in numerous markets.
But if four new firms join the list, four firms must fall off the list. Those exiting firms are (1) Boston’s Mintz Levin et al., (2) Houston’s Bracewell & Guiliani, (3) Husch Blackwell and (4) McKenna Long & Aldridge (although their recent merger with Luce Forward will put them back on the list next year).
